ELEMENTS® Double Loop Straps feature two loops of equal length, designed primarily for foot and leg work in Pilates and GYROTONIC® practice.

The balanced construction allows the straps to move naturally with the body, offering freedom of movement while maintaining secure support around the foot and ankle, which is why they are widely used as foot straps in Pilates and GYROTONIC® exercises.

This is different from Pilates Double Loop Straps, which have one short and one long loop.

ELEMENTS® Double Loop Straps provide comfort, stability, and adaptability for a wide range of exercises and practitioners. They are available in SmallStandard (in narrow, standard and jumbo widths)Large and Extra Large lengths, with a variety of lining materials and colours.

Jumbo straps feature extra-wide and extra-thick padding, providing additional cushioning when exercising with heavier loads. They are also particularly appreciated by practitioners with sensitive feet and hands, as well as in rehabilitation settings.

Double Loop Straps

ELEMENTS® Double Loop Straps are designed with two loops of equal length, allowing the foot and ankle to move freely while remaining comfortably supported. This construction distributes force evenly and adapts naturally to movement, making Double Loops particularly comfortable for foot and leg exercises.

When used on the feet, Double Loop Straps allow practitioners to point, flex, and move through circular and multi-planar motion without restriction. The straps move with the foot rather than holding it in a fixed position, creating a sense of freedom while maintaining reliable support.

Sizes and Applications

ELEMENTS® Double Loop Straps are available in several sizes to support different exercises and body proportions.

Small Double Loops

Designed for children or practitioners with very small feet. These straps are made with a narrow ribbon construction and fit comfortably around small feet and ankles.

Standard Double Loops

The most commonly used size. Standard straps are designed to fit comfortably around the foot and ankle of most practitioners.

They are available in several widths:

  • Standard Narrow

  • Standard

  • Standard Jumbo

Jumbo Double Loops

Jumbo straps feature extra-wide and extra-thick padding, providing exceptional comfort. They are particularly appreciated by:

  • practitioners with sensitive feet

  • practitioners using heavier spring settings or weights

  • rehabilitation environments

Large Double Loops

Large straps are designed to fit around the calves and are commonly used in exercises within the GYROTONIC® method.

Extra Large Double Loops

Extra Large straps fit around the thighs, allowing their use in both Pilates and Gyrotonic exercises where larger loops are required.

Materials and Comfort

ELEMENTS® Double Loop Straps are available with a variety of lining materials to suit different studio needs and preferences.

Options include:

  • Cotton-mix lining

  • Neoprene lining

  • Soft fleece lining

  • Faux fur lining

  • Wipeable materials for easy studio hygiene

Studios that prioritise hygiene often use our wipeable straps collection and offer their clients to have personal straps.

Freedom of Movement

Double Loop Straps distribute force differently from Foot Y Loop Straps.

The equal-length loops allow the force to move quickly around the foot during circular and multi-planar movements. This creates a sensation of lightness and freedom, as the straps move naturally with the body.

In contrast, Foot Y Loop Straps provide more structured support and can feel more secure during linear movements.

Both designs serve different purposes and many studios keep both strap types available.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the correct size?

The most important measurement when selecting straps for feet is the circumference around the ankle, not the length of the foot. Measure the circumference around the front of your ankle and back of your heel. This is the widest part that goes through the strap.

  • Small Double Loops generally fit feet up to EU size 37
  • Standard Double Loops fit most practitioners
  • Large Double Loops are designed for calves
  • Extra Large Double Loops are designed for thighs

Each product description lists the loop length, which helps determine the correct size.

What is the difference between Double Loop Straps and Foot Y Loop Straps?

The difference lies mainly in how the force is distributed during movement.

Y Loop Straps

  • one straight strap and one angled strap

  • provide strong support and a sense of security

  • particularly suited for linear movements

Double Loop Straps

  • two equal loops

  • distribute force evenly and dynamically

  • particularly suited for circular and multi-planar movement

Many practitioners describe the sensation as lighter and more fluid, as the straps move naturally with the foot.
